- What forms do I need to fill out for graduation?
You need to fill out the graduation form. You can talk to your advisor or go to USU's Graduation Information website.
- What is the BFA Review and when is it?
The BFA Review is a review of your studio work by the faculty of your emphasis. Every emphasis area will have different requirements and schedules. It is best to contact a faculty member in your emphasis to get specific information. This process typically takes place at the end of your sophomore year, but you should have the core and foundation classes completed.
- What is the process to become an art major?
1. Submit portfolio to be accepted into the art department.
Students who have applied for admissions to Utah State University and wish to major in art must make a separate application directly to the Department of Art & Design that includes 10 personal works within the last 2 years. All applications must be submitted by February 1st. Click here for specific information on what needs to be submitted.
Note: you can still take some intro classes without being declared as an art major. However, some intro classes (drawing, 2D design, 3D design, etc.) have "art majors only" restrictions that don't fill up as quickly as the general intro classes. In short, registration will be much easier if you are a declared art major.
2. Apply to the BFA program in your specific emphasis. (Not necessary for BS or BA degrees)
Each emphasis has their own review process and schedule, but this usually takes place at the end of your sophomore year. You should have your core and foundation classes done by this point. Contact your instructor for more information.
