As a student in the Drawing & Painting emphasis area at Utah State, you'll be working with a dedicated faculty of practicing artists. We believe in the value of process and a strong craft tradition as the driving forces behind a studio-based program that encompasses many different approaches to studio practice. We see our discipline's rich history as a springboard and encourage our students use the formal and technical skills and strategies presented by our curriculum as tools to develop work that is highly individual and focused on visual communication and conceptual problem solving. We want your experience in Drawing & Painting at USU to be intense, diverse and effective and look forward to working with you toward that goal.
The Drawing/Painting Emphasis Requirement Sheet contains specific information of courses required for graduation. This information sheet is also available from the Department of Art & Design office in the Fine Arts Visual building, room 122 (FAV 122).
